![]() The transitions are well made and they are very thin. We get well-made metal bodies that are very premium feeling and look like premium devices. Personally I'd say they're both strong contenders but all the facts I think matter are above. While the five tablets look a bit different, the basic design is almost the same. Both iPad and galaxy tab have great note taking apps as well. In terms of going to college and using it as a scratchpad both would be excellent but I've heard the apple pencil is slightly better with more levels of touch responsiveness depth. Anither important thing is how long they're supported, the tab gets software updates for 3 yrars and security fir 4, but was released in 2020 so is a bit behind now (but again s8 is dropping soon) while apple usually has 4-6 years of updates for the iPad, I'm not sure how important this is to u, but seeing as Google seems to be finally taking an interest in android tablets u may want more software updates if u go for the s7 as there's a lot to improve on. ![]() Also as a media consumption device the tab is so far ahead of the iPad, the screen on the s7 is rated second best in any tablet, right after the s7+(and I have the s7+, and can attest to how good it is). But I would say if u alr have apple phone and wearables, an iPad isn't necessary altho it may help sending files between each other, and seeing as a tablet is used for consumption, android really makes that easier by allowing you to sideload apps such as for reading manga etc. One if the main perks of samsung which is dex us killed off tho seeing as u won't be using it for work. Also the software experience on iPad is better, but take into account a whole new refresh of android for larger screens is coming in android 12L, and is the first time Google has payed attention to the android tablet market in forever, and its only come thanks to the success of larger folding phablets. Personally I use Samsung everything but I will say the iPad is really smooth in the apple ecosystem, I used to be invested in apple and the way it works together is pretty much the only thing I miss. Also the s7 will be cheaper than an iPad overall as it comes with an spen. With Android, more ram is always better for futureproof.įirst take into account the tab s8 is dropping v soon, which means u can get an s7 cheaper or a more powerful device. *If you do get the TabS7, try getting the 8GB of RAM version. IOS in general is a lot more optimized beyond note-taking.The nib is less likely to break since it is hard plastic. On top, S Pen features air gesture if you want to play around with it. The nib of the S Pen is thinner too (it's more accurate).S Pen is less heavy and thinner (for me, it was more comfortable to hold). If you write fast and heavy enough, you will hear a tac tac tac sound coming from the Apple Pencil Because the nib of the S-Pen is soft, it makes no noise while writing as opposed to the plastic nib you get on Apple Pencil.I don't want to worry about the battery level. S Pen does not required any charge to perform basic functions such as writing (It only charges for its Bluetooth functionality).I've owned both the iPad Pro and the TabS7 for note taking and here is why (in my opinion), TabS7 is better overall: I was about to suggest go with iPad because of your current ecosystem until you said "mainly using this for note taking".
